When it comes to family therapy, sometimes it makes sense to bring the therapist into your home, rather than a more clinical environment like our offices and therapy spaces.
It can make the experience more comfortable for younger children and the therapist can gain a better and quicker understanding into your family dynamics by seeing your children and family in their natural environment.
Some of our work with families includes:
- Positive social development skills
- Positive self-worth and self-regard skills
- Practicing setting appropriate boundaries
- Children experiencing difficult change (parental separation/divorce, blended families/new family dynamics, significant medical diagnosis themselves or within the family)
- Grief and loss
- Childhood trauma, particularly born from experiencing domestic and family violence, or parental issues such as mental health or substance abuse
- Emotional literacy and capacity building
- Navigating transitions in schooling, adulthood, and relationships
- Navigating stress relating to academic, sporting/extracurricular performance and future planning
- Building a sense of self and identity
